Hello and welcome to the Saber Defense Blog. My name is Mike Anderson and I’m the owner, president, and primary trainer. My focus for this channel is to change fear into confidence by providing world class situational blogs and videos. Think of them as a mix of “What to do” and “how to” video. The scope will change as the requests for additional content come in.

You may be asking yourself “Why on Earth do I want this guy to train me?” Well, let me tell you a little bit about my background. I joined the United States Army as a Cavalry Scout in 2000. My first bit of training was in Dismounted Reconnaissance and Mounted Combat Vehicle operations. Everything was going relatively fine until the World Trade Center was attacked. Then we prepared for actual war. My first deployment was right after the towers fell and, believe it or not, was to Dugway Proving Grounds, Utah to protect the interests and assets of the US Government from further attacks. After that, we trained even harder waiting for our chance to go and be soldiers. Once the invasion of Iraq was announced, we got our marching orders. In 2003, my unit was deployed to Iraq in the initial wave to combat the Republican Guard’s “notorious “Armor division. We pushed all the way through the country. Once cleared, we started the process of re-establishing the country’s infrastructure and stability. I served in many parts of the country, including Ramadi. After Iraq, I was sent to Germany where the focus of my training changed from Recon to Training and Urban Combat. I received training in Close Quarter Battle (CQB) at a NATO Special Forces Training Center. There I learned the art of Urban Combat from planning to execution alongside the very best operators of the other 8 NATO nations represented. After completing this intense and challenging course, I was appointed as the Battalion CQB instructor. After a year in that position, I was hand-picked to deploy to Afghanistan and was attached to an Infantry Company, then a Special Forces Unit (ODA 313 and 316 for those that know). Now, to be clear, I was not Special Forces, I was just good enough to earn their respect and a position on their team. I was also in charge of 12 men and 3 HMMWV’s. That’s millions of dollars in equipment and priceless amount for my men. I couldn’t have done anything without those brave men by my side.

I got out of the Army after that deployment. Since then. I’ve studied a wide variety of topics such as Music, Psychology, and Computer Science. However, I knew deep down that I couldn’t let my training go to waste. I decided to start Saber Defense for that reason. I take what the good taxpayers of this great country paid for and I use it to train people how to defend themselves and to make customized home defense training.

My first blogs video’s focus on general home invasion prevention tactics based off the real-life break ins from around the Atlanta area. I will also make focus videos on key concepts like fundamentals, situational awareness, and best practices, so stay tuned for these…I’m sure this will be the most challenging part of my life, as I’ve never done anything like this before!

So, if you’ve made it this far, thank you. I look forward to making what I hope will be informative blogs and videos for you all to learn and be more prepared.

This is Mike from Saber Defense and remember, watch your 6.
